PROFESSIONAL WINDOW FILM INSTALLATION

When it comes to protecting your windows and your home from excessive window heat, damaging UV radiation, and even prying eyes, residential window tinting has come a long way. Recent innovations in window film tint technology have resulted in more choices of color and style to match your home’s aesthetic, as well as improved performance.

Safe to say, there has never been a better time to explore how installing window film can help you save money on cooling costs, reduce your home’s energy footprint, and block harmful UV rays that cause fading and increase your UV indoor radiation exposure. Today’s window films also provide more options for enhancing your privacy by blocking outside views, and better glare reduction so you can work at home or enjoy watching television or playing video games—without living in the dark.

Window Hero offers residential window film installation using premium window tint technology. Contact us for a free quote!

Energy Savings

Sunlight streaming through your home’s windows brings heat along with it, especially during the summer and in warmer climates. This excess heat can make your home feel less comfortable and drive up energy costs. Solar window film helps block a significant portion of the sun’s thermal energy by reducing heat transfer through the glass. This keeps indoor temperatures more stable and lowers your cooling bill, without sacrificing natural light.

Fade Protection

Standard window glass does little to stop ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which means that both you and your home’s interior are subject to sun damage. In addition to increasing the risk of skin cancer, UV rays cause fading and discoloration in flooring, furniture, artwork, and fabrics. Our high-performance window film blocks more than 99% of UV radiation, helping to preserve your home’s appearance and protect the health of everyone inside.

Glare Reduction

Glare from sunlight can make it difficult to work on a computer, watch TV, or even read comfortably during the day, especially in rooms with large or sun-facing windows. Instead of closing the curtains and blocking out natural light, choose a window film with anti-glare properties. By absorbing, reflecting, or diffusing excess sunlight, anti-glare window tint reduces glare, minimizes eye strain, and also makes it easier to see outside.

Enhanced Privacy

Living near neighbors or on a busy street can feel like you’re living under a microscope. Reflective window film creates a mirror effect that blocks visibility from the outside during the day, without darkening the interior or changing your view from inside. For round the clock privacy, frosted or tinted films obscure the view from outside, but also affect the view from inside. Our window film pros can help you explore options to enhance your privacy.

PROFESSIONAL WINDOW FILM INSTALLATION FAQS

Choosing the right window film depends on what you’re trying to achieve, such as energy savings, UV reduction, glare reduction, and/or privacy, as well as the type of windows you have, the type of glass the windows are made from, the location of windows, and the local climate. There are many factors to consider, but your local Window Hero team can help you understand your options and choose a window film meets your needs.

In most cases, film or tint is installed on the inside of the windows. In certain situations, the film is installed on the outside.

Modern window films are available in many different tints, as well as non-tinted or clear film. While darker tints do block more light, reducing solar heat to a greater extent, clear and semi-clear window film can still block a significant portion of heat, helping to reduce heat gain inside your home. Your local Window Hero team will be happy to explain what type of window film can block heat without tinting

Reflective window film creates a mirror-like appearance to keep people on the outside from seeing into your home during the day, without affecting your view to the outside. Note that the mirrored effect does not work when it’s dark outside, so you still need to use curtains or other window coverings for privacy at night. Another option is frosted window film, which allows light some light to pass through but obscures the view from the outside. However, it also blocks your view from the inside, which you may not want. This type of film is often used for bathroom windows or entryway windows in homes.

Installing window film correctly is more complex than it looks. Professional installation ensures the film is applied smoothly, without bubbles, creases or dust. Professionals also use commercial-grade films that are more durable, more effective, and often come with long-term warranties you won’t get with store-bought kits. Just as importantly, trained installers know how to match the right type of film to the specific glass in your home. Applying the wrong film can lead to thermal stress or even cause the glass to crack over time. At Window Hero, we have the skill, experience, and materials needed to get the best results, so your window film performs as it should for years to come.
